The Youth Orchestra of the Lowcountry (YOLOW) will hold orchestra auditions for the 2011-2012 season this Sunday, August 28. 

The auditions are open to students in grades 7 through 12 who play any orchestral instrument (Strings, Woodwinds, Brass and Percussion).  

Auditions will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at North Charleston High School, 1087 E. Montague Ave., North Charleston, 29405.

Richard Marcus is the conductor of the Symphony Orchestra, while Jonathon DePriest is the conductor of The Concert Orchestra, a second performing ensemble added last season.

YOLOW is dedicated to performing the great works of the orchestral repertoire.  Pieces to be performed this season include Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain and “Bacchanale” from Saint-Saëns’s Samson et Dalila.
